Hi everyone, here is a short rundown of what we did in Camp Leah Rivka this week.
Tuesday afternoon 60 happy campers piled off the bus after a long trip onto the beautiful grounds of Camp Leah Rivka to the welcome and cheers of our awesome counselors. We all then went into the shul for a fun game where each bunk popped different colored balloons and dressed up to find out who their counselors were. We then had a long night unpacking and getting to know our fellow bunk mates.
B”h our counselors are amazing and were really helping the campers with everything they needed. Wednesday we had an early start with cocoa club with our unbelievable ruchnius director Rivky Wilcshanski! We had an amazing turn out of over 20 girls! Great job to everyone who went and earned those extra points for Tzivos Hashem. We all then played a bunch of really fun ‘get to know you’ games and we even made ice cream cones for our fellow bunk mates. We then had our first workshop session! With baking, mirror frosting, wood work, and sequent art, everyone was using all the creativity they’ve got! We then trecked up the hill to the alte heim – a spooky house where we hunted for glow sticks which introduced the grand theme of GLOW IN THE DARK! We even learned our camp song!!! We learned that we each have to work on ourselves, by working on our middos and learning the rebbes horaos, and then we can be a lamplighter, and shine what we have to all those around us by pushing away the darkness and prepare the world for the greatest light ever, the light of Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
After supper we had a smashing hunt for our counselors! We all ended up with tonz of different colors of paint all over our faces! Whew that was an amazing day! Thursday came around with a very early wake up. We’re going caving!! We all piled into the bus with our Tzivos Hashem booklets for the long ride ahead of us. Caving was a blast! We were so exhausted after that amazing trip, that the bus ride home felt so short! Then came Friday, the first day in camp Leah Rivka 5771 that we went swimming! Boy the lake was fun, it really cooled us down from the shining hot sun! After swimming, bunk 5 and 6 went on amazing hikes to find their pizza waiting for them in the woods! VIP’s went on a pontoon ride and had a blast! CIT’s had an amazing time making challah for the entire camp, making beautiful salt art and learning how to make the napkin look stunning on the Shabbat table! What an awesome week we had! Can’t wait for all the fun we will be having in the coming weeks!!! I LOVE CAMP LEAH RIVKA!!
